Aspöck modular plug-in lighting is fitted to a huge share of European trailers, and its strength everything unplugs and swaps is also what confuses buyers: with so many lamps, connectors and cable branches, ordering the right part means knowing how the system fits together. This guide breaks down the Aspöck range and how to order by part number.
The modular idea: one harness, plug-in lamps
Instead of hard wiring each lamp, an Aspöck installation uses a main cable running the length of the trailer, with branch points (distributors) where short cables plug in to each lamp. Every connection is a sealed plug-in coupling, so a damaged lamp or cable is unplugged and replaced without cutting or soldering. That is why identifying the exact connector matters as much as the lamp itself.
Rear lamps: the Europoint family
The rear combination lamps stop, tail, indicator, reverse, fog and reflector in one housing are mostly the Europoint series (Europoint I, II and III across generations). When ordering a rear lamp, what matters is the exact version, the functions it carries, whether it is left or right, and the connector type on the back. Order by the part number moulded into the housing.
Marker and outline lamps
- Superpoint the common side marker and end-outline marker lamp, in yellow (side) and red/white (outline) versions.
- Flatpoint a slim rear or side lamp used where a low profile fitting is needed.
- Monopoint a single function lamp.
- Regpoint and number plate lamps dedicated licence plate illumination.
The ASS harness and bayonet connectors
Aspöck's plug-in system is built around bayonet connectors push and twist couplings in different pole counts (commonly 2 pole for markers and 5 or 7 pole for rear lamps). The ASS (Aspöck Star System) harness ties these together through distributors, with ASS3 being the current generation. The two things to confirm when ordering a cable are the number of poles and the connector type at each end, plus the cable length.
Plugs to the tractor: 7-pin vs 13-pin
At the front of the trailer, the harness terminates in the coupling to the towing vehicle. Older systems use two 7-pin plugs 12N (type N, ISO 1724) for the basic functions and 12S (type S) for auxiliary while modern trailers use a single 13-pin plug (ISO 11446) carrying everything in one connector. Confirm which your trailer and tractor use before ordering a nose cable or adapter.

Because the range is modular, the reliable method is always the same: read the part number moulded into the lamp housing or connector and order by it. If the number is worn away, note the lamp family, functions, side (left/right), pole count and connector type, and we will identify it.
