Raufoss ABC Push-In Fittings Explained: Sizes, Types and How to Choose

Raufoss ABC (Automatic Braking Coupling) is the push-in tube fitting system used throughout European truck and trailer air brake and auxiliary air circuits. What the ABC system is

Raufoss ABC fittings connect nylon or polyamide air tubing without tools push the tube in, and a locking mechanism inside the fitting grips it. The system covers straight connectors, 90° elbows, swivels, tube connectors, building-block unions, and threadless push-fit versions, all rated to a common standard: 12.5 bar maximum operating pressure and -40°C to +100°C operating range (peak +130°C unpressurized, for a limited time).

Raufoss article numbers follow a series-plus-dimension logic. The first digits identify the product series for example, 901 is the ABC Newline push-in coupling range, 902 is the threadless range, 903 is the 90° integral elbow range, 905 is the tube connector range, and 931 is the swivel range. The remaining digits encode the tube size and thread or connection type. So a number like 90112016 breaks down as: series 901 (ABC Newline), tube size 12x1.5mm, thread M16x1.5.

• Tube size is the outer diameter and wall thickness of the nylon tubing the fitting accepts common sizes are 6x1, 8x1, 10x1, 12x1.5 and 15x1.5mm.
